COVID-19 has been confirmed for 21,402 people in Kerala today. The district-wise break-up of the number of infected are Malappuram 2,941, Thiruvananthapuram 2,364, Ernakulam 2,315, Thrissur 2,045, Kollam 1,946, Palakkad 1,871, Alappuzha 1,679, Kannur 1,641, Kozhikode 1,492, Kottayam 1,349, Kasaragod 597, Pathanamthitta 490, Idukki 461 and Wayanad 211.

A total of 86,505 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 24.74. A total of 1,80,14,842 samples have been tested so far, including LAMP and antigen testing.

No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 125 people from the UK (115), South Africa (9) and Brazil (1). Of these, 124 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

Today, it has been confirmed that 87 deaths in the last few days are due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 6,515.

Today, 100 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. 19,612 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 1,610 is not clear. Malappuram 2,858, Thiruvananthapuram 2,122, Ernakulam 2,244, Thrissur 2,030, Kollam 1,938, Palakkad 986, Alappuzha 1,675, Kannur 1,507, Kozhikode 1,452, Kottayam 1,103, Kasaragod 586, Pathanamthitta 469, Idukki 442 and Wayanad 200 were affected by the disease.

About 80 health workers were affected. Health workers in Kannur 24, Thiruvananthapuram 12, Ernakulam, Palakkad 7 each, Kasaragod 6, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Thrissur, Kozhikode 5 each, Wayanad 3 and Kottayam 1 were affected.

Of the 99,651 people diagnosed and treated, the disease was cured. Thiruvananthapuram 16,100, Kollam 3899, Pathanamthitta 349, Alappuzha 6947, Kottayam 3004, Idukki 7005, Ernakulam 14,900, Thrissur 17,884, Palakkad 1257, Malappuram 4050, Kozhikode 5724, Wayanad 6907, Kannur 5722 and Kasaragod 5903 were cured. With this, 3,62,315 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 18,00,179 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.

There are currently 10,19,085 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 9,81,370 are under home / institutional quarantine and 37,715 in hospitals. 3630 people were newly admitted to the hospital.

There are no new hotspot today and o area is excluded from the hotspot. There are currently a total of 853 hotspots.
