90-year-old woman brutally raped in Delhi, accused arrested

In an unfortunate incident where a human turned animal, a 33-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a 90-year-old woman. The inhumane incident happened in Delhi’s Chhawla, Najafgarh area.

According to the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), the victim tried to resist the acts of the young man, but the unflinching hunter assaulted the old lady and raped her multiple times.

The shocking incident happened when the elderly woman was waiting for a milkman at around 05.00 PM. The accused soon approached the woman and informed her that milkman will not come, and he offered to take her to buy the milk. Later, the accused took the old woman to his farm and brutally raped her.

While the accused raped the woman, she cried loudly seeking for help, and soon local residents reached the farm. They caught the accused, and soon he was handed over to the police.

Medical examination conducted on the woman revealed that she suffered from injuries, and is currently in a state of extreme trauma.

“From a six-month-old girl to a 90-year-old woman, no one is safe in Delhi. The kind of trauma this woman had to face clearly indicates that the perpetrators of these crimes are not humans. I met the woman today, she is an extremely courageous woman. We will ensure she gets justice. This case needs to be fast tracked and justice should be served within six month,” said Swati Mailwal, DCW chief.

Police revealed that the accused has been identified as Sonu, a resident of Rewla Khanpur. He has been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 376.
