Ninety-seven people were confirmed with COVID-19 in Kerala on June 18, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said. Eighty-nine people were cured and one person died. K.P. Sunil, a driver in the Excise Department, was the person who died.
Of those who were confirmed with COVID-19, 65 people arrived from abroad and 29 from other states. Three people got the infection through contact. The number of people who contracted COVID-19 reached 2,794 and 1,358 people were under treatment.
A total of 1,26,839 were under observation out of whom 1,967 were in hospitals. One hundred and ninety people were admitted in hospitals. Until now, 1,69,035 samples were sent for testing. The results of 3,149 samples are expected.
