Abdul Gafoor from Quilandy, Kerala, has been elected as the District Director of District 79 of Toastmasters International which represents Riyadh and Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia for the July 2021-June 2022 term. He is the first Keralite and Indian being elected to lead District 79 of Saudi Arabia.

Gafoor had joined Toastmasters International at CIGI Toastmasters Club (Now Cosmos Toastmasters Club) of Al Khobar in February 2007. During these 14 years, he served as Sergeant At Arms, Vice President Education and President of the Club, then became Area 70 Governor, Division F Governor and Program Quality Director of District 79.

He was selected as the best Division Governor of District during 2014-2015 and received the Excellence in Program Quality from Toastmastmasters International, USA in 2017-2018.

Gafoor received the top educational award, DTM ( Distinguished  Toastmaster) in December 2012. He is also very actively associated with the educational programs designed for students like Youth Leadership Programs & Gavel Clubs.

A mechanical engineer by profession, Gafoor has been working in Saudi Arabia for the last 31 years. His is married to Nishbath Gafoor and they have two daughters, Megna Gafoor and Lina Gafoor.
