Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurates the Covid Second Line Treatment Centre at Adlux Convention Centre, Angamaly set up by CII. Also seen are Suhas S IAS, District Collector, Ernakulam; Sreenath Vishnu, Chairman, CII Kerala & Executive Director, Brahmins Foods India Pvt Ltd; Benny Behannan MP and Mr Geemon Korah Vice Chairman, CII Kerala & CEO, Kancor Ingredients Ltd.

CII with the support of District Administration, Ernakulam has set up a fully equipped 500-bed  Covid Second Line Treatment Centre at Adlux Convention Centre, Angamaly, Ernakulam.

Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated this facility today. The Inaugural Ceremony was attended by Benny Bahannan MP, Suhas S IAS, District Collector, Ernakulam, Sreenath Vishnu, Chairman, CII Kerala & Executive Director, Brahmins Foods India Pvt Ltd,  Geemon Korah Vice Chairman, CII Kerala & CEO, Kancor Ingredients Ltd, officials from the Health department and District Administration, representatives from Sponsor Companies, CII member companies and other eminent dignitaries.

The 500-bed Covid Second Line Treatment Center has separate Male and Female wards. The centre is fully equipped to cater to the requirement of Covid patients and has Oxygen Concentrators, Defibrillator, X – ray GE, Multipara monitor, Cots, Beds and other essentials.

CII has invested Rs.2.2 crore towards the procurement of Medical Equipment and Infrastructure arrangements. This has been made possible with the financial support of ten organisations including  Infosys Foundation, US Technology International, IBS Software, Muthoot Fincorp, Eastern Condiments Pvt Ltd, Federal Bank Ltd, Synthite Industries Pvt Ltd, Kancor Ingredients Ltd, Suntec Business Solutions Pvt Ltd and ESAF Small Finance Bank Ltd.

Speaking on the occasion the Chief Minister said that the centre will be helpful in providing better medical care to critical Covid patients. Asserting that it is a challenging time for everyone Shri Pinarayi Vijayan mentioned that the government has initiated various strategies to check the second wave of COVID 19.

The Chief Minister thanked CII for this timely initiative to support the government in this hour of crisis.

Suhas S IAS, District Collector, Ernakulam mentioned about the Covid relief initiatives taken by the District Administration in Ernakulam.  MR. Suhas S thanked CII and its member companies for setting up the facility which will be helpful in providing timely medical care to critically ill Covid patients.

On the occasion Mr Sreenath Vishnu, Chairman CII Kerala & Executive Director, Brahmins Foods India Pvt Ltd and Mr Geemon Korah, Vice Chairman CII Kerala & CEO, Kancor Ingredients Ltd addressed the gathering.

In addition to this project, CII has taken up two more projects; 1) Addressing the critical need of oxygen by setting up a Centralized Oxygen Supply System in 22 Government Hospitals across 9 districts of Kerala. This project is resulting in creation of close to 1150 Oxygen beds Towards this project CII has invested Rs 1.34 Cr with the financial support of 15 organizations, and 2) Converting two wards of the Medical College Trivandrum into fully equipped medical ICU wards with 200 beds. This will reduce the strain on the existing infrastructure and cater to the needs of more COVID patients. Towards this project CII has invested Rs.2.8 Cr. again with the financial support of its members.
