COVID-19 has been confirmed for 37,199 people in Kerala today. Outbreaks were reported in Kozhikode 4,915, Ernakulam 4,642, Thrissur 4,281, Malappuram 3,945, Thiruvananthapuram 3,535, Kottayam 2,917, Kannur 2,482, Palakkad 2,273, Alappuzha 2,224, Kollam 1,969, Idukki 1,235, Pathanamthitta 1,225, Kasaragod 813 and Wayanad 743.

During the last 24 hours, 1,49,487 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is 24.88. A total of 1,57,99,524 samples have been tested so far, including LAMP and antigen testing.

No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 116 people from the UK (108), South Africa (7) and Brazil (1). Of these, 114 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

It has been confirmed today that 49 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 5,308.

Today, 330 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 34,587 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 2,169 is not clear. Kozhikode 4,715, Ernakulam 4,544, Thrissur 4,233, Malappuram 3,761, Thiruvananthapuram 3,359, Kottayam 2,664, Kannur 2,304, Palakkad 999, Alappuzha 2,208, Kollam 1,956, Idukki 1,207, Pathanamthitta 1,150, Kasaragod 771 and Wayanad 716 were affected by the disease.

A total of 113 health workers were affected by the disease. Kannur 27, Kasaragod 19, Thrissur 15, Wayanad 13, Pathanamthitta 9, Palakkad 7, Idukki, Ernakulam 6, Kollam 5, Thiruvananthapuram 3, Kozhikode 2 and Malappuram 1 were affected.

The test results of 17,500 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 1,602, Kollam 2,124, Pathanamthitta 459, Alappuzha 933, Kottayam 1,804, Idukki 533, Ernakulam 2689, Thrissur 1,283, Palakkad 886, Malappuram 1,099, Kozhikode 2,013, Wayanad 249, Kannur 1,113 and Kasaragod 713 were found to be negative today. With this, 3,03,733 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. A total of 12,61,801 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.

There are currently 6,43,529 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 6,19,703 are under home / institutional quarantine and 23,826 are under hospital surveillance. A total of 5206 people were admitted to hospitals today.

Today there are eight new hotspots. No area is excluded from the hotspot. There are currently a total of 624 hotspots.
