For natural disasters, Japan is a hotbed, and the country has several times faced the wrath of the cosmos in the form of earthquakes and tsunamis. And now, a powerful typhoon named Haishen has hit Japan, with gusty winds, and torrential downpours.
According to reports, at least four people went missing, and more than 50 people were injured following the typhoon’s powerful lash in Japan’s Kyushu island. Widespread blackouts are reported in several areas in the region, and Shinkansen bullet train services are being now canceled in the affected parts.
As per a report published in Xinhua, it has been learned that more than 580 domestic flights are now canceled due to the typhoon. Shinkansen bullet train services from Hakata and Hiroshima have been also canceled following the heavy downpour.
The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) has issued a public warning and has asked people to stay vigilant and safe during these times of national emergencies. JMA also revealed that the typhoon is now headed towards the Korean Peninsular.
With an atmospheric pressure of 960 hectopascals at its center, typhoon Haishen is expected to generate winds that might blow up to a speed of 180 kilometers per hour.
