Suresh Raina’s uncle and cousin murdered; cricketer pleads for justice

It was around a few days back that Suresh Raina returned to India from Dubai. The cricketer also announced that he will not be playing this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) which will be conducted in the United Arab Emirates. After exiting from the tournament, Raina also revealed that he has taken this decision due to personal reasons.

The decision of Raina literally shocked his fans, as they were expecting him to play in the yellow jersey of Chennai Super Kings, post his retirement from international cricket. Later, it was revealed that Suresh Raina’s uncle was killed on August 19 by a group of robbers.

And now, Suresh Raina has broken his silence and has revealed that his uncle and cousin were murdered after robbers attacked his family. The brutal attack apparently happened in Pathankot, Punjab, and his cousins were also seriously injured in the untoward incident.

“What happened to my family is Punjab was beyond horrible. My uncle was slaughtered to death, my bua & both my cousins had severe injuries. Unfortunately, my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua is still very very critical & is on life support,” wrote Raina on his Twitter page.

In another tweet, Raina requested authorities to carry out a strict investigation to nab the culprits behind the brutal attack.

“Till date, we don’t know what exactly had happened that night & who did this. I request @PunjabPoliceIndto look into this matter. We at least deserve to know who did this heinous act to them. Those criminals should not be spared to commit more crimes,” added Raina.

The Punjab Police revealed that ‘Kale Kachhewale’ gang members are behind this attack. The investigation is still going on, and police are still in pursuit of suspects.
